What to Expect

Awhitu Zen is genuinely remote, and that's the whole point. Here's everything you need to know before you arrive so you can fully switch off once you do.

Peaceful & Private

The location is exceptionally quiet. No traffic noise, no neighbours in earshot, no interruptions. Just birdsong, harbour breeze, and whatever you choose to fill the silence with.

A Living View

From across the Manukau Harbour you can watch planes on their final approach or takeoff from Auckland Airport. Some guests love tracking flights from the hot tub; others never notice. Either way, the Sky Tower stands 23 km across the water, a nightly reminder that the city is there and you are wonderfully not.

Supplies Close Enough

Bhanas, the local shop, is just 10 minutes away, perfect for anything forgotten. Fuel is available there too. Takeaways are served from the shop on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 4:30 pm, a handy option if you'd rather not cook.

Sea views and sweeping rural scenery surround the property. The Manukau Harbour stretches out before you, the peninsula rolls into the distance behind you, and the night sky away from city light pollution is something else entirely.

Getting Here

90 Minutes from Auckland CBD

The drive to Awhitu Zen takes you through Karaka or Drury, then the peaceful town of Waiuku, and along the Awhitu Peninsula. The journey itself is worth savouring.
